Town of North Hempstead

Mary Jo Collins, the Town of North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes, will join us on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Great Neck Library on 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, to deliver a presentation on how to challenge (or grieve) your property’s assessment. Taxpayers have the right to file a grievance each year between January 2 and March 3 by submitting an application to the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (ARC).

This presentation is designed to guide property owners who wish to file their own appeal, without hiring an outside representative, through the grievance process step by step. Attendees will learn how to build a strong case by using ARC’s online residential appeal system (AROW) and its sales locator tool to find data on comparable properties.

Following the presentation, Mary Jo Collins and her staff will be available to answer questions and provide additional assistance.

To reserve your seat, please email gounarisg@northhempsteadny.gov or call (516) 869-7800. Reservations are not required but are recommended.
