Bonnets for Beginners with Fashions by Shida

Celebrate creativity and culture this Juneteenth with a free hands-on sewing class where you’ll learn how to make your very own satin bonnet—perfect for protecting natural hair and expressing personal style. This beginner-friendly workshop will teach you the basics of using a sewing machine and working with satin fabric. All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary! Open to ages 10 and up (Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult). Learn a new skill, take home something beautiful, and connect with your community in a joyful and creative space. The class will include step-by-step guidance on using a sewing machine with all materials provided to craft your tote. Sewing machines will be available, but if you have your own, you are encouraged to bring it.  Spaces are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot today.
